Game 10: Chicago 1 at Detroit 1

The game was scoreless until 5:39 into the third period, and then two goals were scored within 52 seconds of each other.

Larry Hillman, playing in his first game of the year, fired a slapshot past Al Rollins to give the Red Wings (2-0-2) a 1-0 lead. The goal came on a power play.

Less than a minute later, Chicago's (1-2-1) Eric Nesterenko beat Glenn Hall with a wrist shot from the top of the face-off circle.
